Favourites

How members save listings they like with the heart button, find them again under My Favorites, and how you can use favourites on your site.

Favourites let members save listings they are interested in and come back to them later, like a wishlist. Buyers rarely decide on the first visit, so an easy way back to a listing brings them back to your marketplace too.

Favourites are always on; there is nothing to set up.

How members save a listing

Signed-in members click the heart on a listing card or on the listing page (where it is labelled Save). The heart fills in to show the listing is saved. Clicking it again removes it.

Visitors who aren’t signed in are asked to sign in or create an account first.

Where members find their favourites

Under My account › My Favorites. The page shows the saved listings as cards, most recently saved first; clicking the heart on a card removes it. Members who haven’t saved anything see No favorites yet and a Browse Listings button.

Only listings that are currently published are shown. A saved listing that is sold, deactivated or expired disappears from the page, and comes back if it is published again. Deleted listings are removed from everyone’s favourites.

How you can use favourites

  • See what is popular. On the listing page, themes like Nova show how often it has been saved: Saved N times.
  • Sort by popularity. Favorited is one of the orders in Sort Listings on Listings › Settings, so you can show the most-saved listings first. See Publishing options.
  • Tell sellers. A listing that is saved often but never contacted may have a price that is too high: worth mentioning when sellers ask why they get no messages.

Price drop emails

With Price drop emails on, members who saved a listing get an email with the old and new price when the seller lowers it, at most once a day per listing. Switch it on or off in Listings › Settings › Listing details. It works on any site, and is on by default where the vehicles pack or the property pack is on. Members stop these emails by removing the favourite or with the email’s unsubscribe link.

Saving a favourite doesn’t notify the seller. For alerts about new listings, members can subscribe to categories: see Notifications and alerts.
