Listing performance and monthly reports for sellers
Show each seller how many people viewed, called, messaged and searched for their listings, and email them a report of last month on the 1st.
Sellers renew when they can see what your site brings them. Two switches help with that:
- Listing performance for sellers gives every listing a Performance page. Its seller sees how many people viewed it, clicked to call, message, visit the website, open WhatsApp or get directions, and which searches found it.
- Monthly report for sellers emails each seller a short summary of last month on the 1st of every month, with their top listings, so they see the results without having to log in.
They work on their own or together. The report is more useful with listing performance on, because it can then include the clicks and searches too.
Switch them on
Both are off until you switch them on. Sites created from the sign-up wizard as a business directory or a services site start with Listing performance for sellers on.
- Go to Settings › General.
- In Access & privacy, switch on Listing performance for sellers, Monthly report for sellers, or both.
- Click Save changes in the bar at the bottom.
If a switch says Set by Yclas support for your site, ask us through Support to change it.
Views and messages are only recorded while Count Visits Listings is on in Listings › Settings. Without it the Performance page and the report show clicks and searches, but no views or messages. See Analytics.
What is counted
Counting starts on the day you switch listing performance on; there are no clicks or searches from before.
| Figure | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Views | How many times the listing was opened. |
| Messages | Messages sent to the seller through the listing’s contact form. |
| Calls | Clicks on the listing’s phone number or call button. |
| Website visits | Clicks on the link to the seller’s website. |
| WhatsApp and Telegram | Clicks on the WhatsApp or Telegram button, where the listing shows one. |
| Directions | Clicks on the link that opens the address on a map. |
| Message button | Clicks on the button that opens the contact form. |
| Searches that found it | The words members typed in your site’s search when the listing was among the first 20 results. |
A visitor clicking the same button on the same listing several times in one day counts once. Search engine bots are not counted.
On sites with the equipment pack and quote requests on, clicks on Request a quote are counted too, and dealers’ machines get a Leads box that adds up calls, WhatsApp, quote requests and messages.
In the Nova theme every contact button is counted. In other themes clicks are recognised by where the link goes: a phone number, WhatsApp, Telegram, a map or the listing’s own website, inside the listing itself. The button that opens the contact form isn’t counted there, but the messages sent still are.
Where sellers see it
In the Nova theme, sellers find a See how this listing performs link on their own listing page. Only the seller and your admins and moderators see that link. The monthly report links to the same page.
In other themes there’s no link on the listing. Sellers can open the page at /oc-panel/performance/index/ followed by
the listing number, for example /oc-panel/performance/index/1234.
The Performance page shows one listing over the last 7 days, 30 days (the default) or 90 days:
- Views, Contact clicks, Messages and Clicks per 100 views at the top.
- Views per day, as a chart. Hover a day to see its views and clicks.
- Contact clicks, one line per button.
- Searches that found it, the top 20 searches in the period.
Each seller sees only their own listings. Admins and moderators can open the page for any listing.
Keep it for paying members
If you sell membership plans, you can make the Performance page a plan perk. When you edit a plan, switch on Listing statistics. Once any plan includes it, only sellers on those plans see the numbers. Other sellers see what the page offers, which plans include it and a See plans button. Your admins and moderators always see the numbers.
This only affects the Performance page. The monthly report still goes to every seller.
The monthly report email
From the 1st of each month, every seller with activity gets an email about the month before. The emails go out in batches through the day, so on a large site some arrive a few hours after others. Each seller gets one report per month.
A seller gets the report when all of these are true:
- their account is active and they have at least one published listing;
- their listings had at least one view, message or contact click last month;
- they haven’t unsubscribed from your emails.
The email, titled for example Your September 2026 report on followed by your site name, shows:
- Views and Messages and contacts for all their listings together;
- one line per kind of contact click, when listing performance is on;
- Your top listings: their three best listings of the month, with views and contacts, each linking to the listing;
- Searches that found you: their five most common searches, when listing performance is on;
- a See the details button to the Performance page of their top listing, when listing performance is on.
It is sent from your Sender email with your site name, in your site’s language.
The report is built from the seller’s numbers each month. It isn’t one of your email templates, so you won’t find it in the Email templates list and its wording can’t be edited there.
How members stop it
Members can stop the report in two ways:
- Unsubscribe with the link at the bottom of your emails. They then get no report at all.
- If you have switched on email preferences, untick Monthly performance report on their Email notifications page. They keep getting your other emails.
To stop it for everyone, switch Monthly report for sellers off.
Good to know
- Only numbers are kept: counts per listing and day, and the words searched. No names, emails or phone numbers of the people who clicked are stored.
- Switching listing performance off hides the Performance pages and stops counting. The figures counted so far are kept and show again if you switch it back on.
- The sales dashboard is a different page: one page per seller with their sales, payouts and the views of all their listings together. Listing performance looks at one listing at a time and adds the contact clicks and searches.
- Analytics is your own view of the whole site. Sellers never see it.
