Plans and billing
How the free trial works, how to choose, change or downgrade a plan, pay monthly or yearly, get receipts and refunds, update your card and cancel.
Every Yclas site starts with a free trial. To keep it online after that, you choose a plan and pay for it from your Yclas account. This guide covers the whole cycle: the trial, choosing and changing plans, paying, renewals, receipts and cancelling.
Plans and prices are on the Pricing page. Prices are in US dollars.
The free trial
- Every new site gets 15 days free. No credit card is needed to start.
- During the trial, the admin panel’s sidebar shows how many days are left, with a Choose a plan link. You also get an email reminder about a week before the trial ends.
- When you choose a plan, everything you set up during the trial stays exactly as it is.
- If the trial ends without a plan, the site is paused. Come back and choose a plan within 30 days and you lose nothing.
How the plans differ
Plans differ mainly in how many listings your site can hold, how many photos each listing can have and the level of support and customisation included. Larger plans add things like full code access, priority support from our developers and strategy sessions. Every paid plan includes your own domain with SSL.
What happens if you reach your listing limit? We email you when you reach 90%, so you can tidy up old listings or move to a bigger plan. Nothing is deleted.
Choose a plan
You can start from either place:
- In your site’s admin panel, click Choose a plan in the sidebar (or in the trial pill at the top on a phone), then Choose this plan under the plan you want.
- At yclas.com, open My sites, click Settings next to the site and click Choose a plan (or Change plan).
Then, on the checkout page:
- Pick your Billing cycle. Longer cycles, when offered, show how much you save compared with paying monthly.
- Check your Billing details: your country and, if you’re a business in the EU, your VAT number (see “VAT” below).
- If you have a coupon, enter it under Coupon and click Update and recalculate.
- Click Pay … with card and enter your card details. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card number.
The plan starts straight away, and your site’s page in My sites shows the new plan and its renewal date.
Renewals: monthly, every 6 months or yearly
Depending on the plan, you can pay monthly or for a longer period (every 6 months or yearly), usually at a lower price per month. You pick the Billing cycle at checkout. When you click Renew now (see below), the checkout shows the other cycle too if your plan has one, so you can switch there. To move to a cycle the checkout doesn’t offer, open a support ticket.
Plans renew automatically for the same cycle: a yearly plan renews every year, a monthly plan every month. The payment is taken the day before your plan’s end date, from the card you used, at the plan’s regular price (a coupon or introductory price applies to your first payment only). Your site’s settings page on yclas.com shows Subscription status: Active — Renews automatically and the date it renews.
If a payment doesn’t go through, we email you straight away with a link to pay, and try your card again over the following weeks. If the plan’s end date passes without a successful payment, the site goes offline until you pay.
To pay an overdue or upcoming renewal yourself, open My sites › Settings for the site and click Renew now.
Keep your card up to date to avoid interruptions: see “Change your card” below.
Change plan
You can move to another plan at any time. At yclas.com, open My sites › Settings for the site, click Change plan and choose the new one. You pay for the new plan at checkout, and it takes effect straight away.
The days left on your current plan aren’t lost: they’re converted at the new plan’s price and added on. For example, if you have 20 days left on a plan that costs half as much as the new one, about 10 days are added to the new plan. Partial days are rounded up in your favour.
- Introductory (promo) prices are for new sites only, so you can’t switch an existing paid site to one.
Downgrade to a smaller plan or to free
To pay less, move to a smaller plan with Change plan, as above. Check the smaller plan’s limits on the Pricing page first: if it allows fewer photos per listing, your site’s photo limit is lowered to match.
There’s no free plan to move to: the free trial is only for new sites, and a paid site can’t go back to it. If you want to stop paying altogether, cancel your subscription (below). The site stays online until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
Receipts and invoices
Every payment has a receipt. At yclas.com, open Purchases in the top menu to see your payments, then click Receipt on any of them. The receipt shows the date, what you paid for, the amount, any coupon applied and who it’s billed to. Click Print or save as PDF to keep a copy.
The address and VAT number on your receipts come from Edit profile › Billing details in your Yclas account. Fill them in before you pay so they appear on the receipt. See Your Yclas account settings.
VAT
If you’re in the European Union we have to add VAT at your country’s rate. If you’re a VAT-registered business, add your EU VAT number at checkout (or in Billing details in your profile). Once the number is checked, no VAT is charged.
Change your card
At yclas.com, open Edit profile, go to Payment card and click Change Card. The new card is used from your next payment. This section appears once you’ve paid by card.
Cancel your subscription
- At yclas.com, open My sites and click Settings next to the site.
- In Subscription, click Cancel subscription and confirm.
Nothing renews after that. The site stays online until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then goes offline. We email you a confirmation.
Changed your mind? On the same page, click Activate subscription and the plan renews as before.
An expired site isn’t deleted straight away: My sites shows The site is offline. Your listings and settings are kept until… with the date. After that date the site is deleted with all its listings, members and photos. If you might come back, renew before then; if you want a copy of your data, see Back up, export or close your site.
Cancelling stops the payments, but it doesn’t delete your site or your Yclas account straight away. To close your account or have a site deleted, see Back up, export or close your site.
Refunds
Every plan comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you’re not happy, ask for a full refund within 30 days of paying, and you get the whole amount back. It also covers a renewal you didn’t want: cancel the subscription first (above) so it doesn’t renew again, then ask for the refund.
To ask for a refund, open a support ticket or reply to your receipt email. Say which site and which payment it’s about (the date and amount on the receipt). The refund goes back to the card you paid with; depending on your bank, it can take a few days to show on your statement.
Payment questions
For anything else about a payment, such as a charge you don’t recognise, a payment that failed or a receipt you need changed, reply to your receipt email or open a support ticket.
